What You 'Can't' and 'Don't' Eat...
(to those who don't eat these and that, here is what my advice to you)
This is something from my own observations. You can agree or disagree.
I noticed that there's a big difference of "what you CAN'T eat" and "what you DON'T eat". The explanation is you CAN'T eat because you have a valid reason to do so, for such, you can't eat peanuts because they gave you allergies. Fine. That's a solid reason. You'll have trouble after eating eat. Acceptable.
I CAN'T eat seafood, peanuts and also eggs because I'm allergy to them. I'm telling out because I don't want to be known as the picky person or the wasteful one.
Next, you DON'T eat food that you don't like or you think it's harmful to you. What is the reason behind it?! Don't be picky over food, please! The food had been cooked, so take it or leave it. There's this thing my elders used to said, "if you eat, you'll survive. If you don't, you'll die". Believe it or not, I really fell into the scare tactics used. I wanted to live, not die. Sometimes, no matter how bad the food taste, I'll eat it down. For reasons known to me that I want to survive and not wasting food.
Come on, think about it, a UN report stated that the world is having shortage of food. If you don't eat this and that and thinks this and that is bad for you, you'd chose the path to starvation and death. So, whatever has been served on the table, take it, don't act as if you're a food expert not eating food you think is bad or harmful.
Last words, in some situations where you're really hungry and desperate, you'll even swallow trash. That's for the extreme situation. Therefore, take what has been given to you. Bad, harmful or poisonous, decide later. Most important fill your stomach.
So kids and big kids, got the message...?

Of Food and the Support...
I'm back after a week absent from my blog. I'm still in holiday, until next week.
There's this topic I wanted to shared.
It's actually been a while since I watched a live sport match in a bistro. I always like to be in such atmosphere. Why? You gather with people around you to support a particular athlete or team. Not forgetting the food and drinks served. Feels very different watching live telecast outside than at home. You can scream all your heart out without others thinking you're out of mind or making too much noise. That's what is all about. The liveliness of the game, the people and the yelling.
That was what I went to last weekend. In a Bavarian bistro in Mid Valley. To be truth, I love the food there. Bacon, German sausages, fried pork fillets and my favorite, Emperor's Cake. This was my first time in a German bar. Most bars or bistro I went were those Western-styled.
What I'd seen over the last week was the Lee Chong Wei's match in the World Championships. Everyone in the bar was cheering and cheering for the only Malaysian to get into the finals. Well, he did every Malaysians that sat in front of the TV screen proud by beating his Chinese opponent, Chen Jin. However, Malaysians seem not to break the jinx of winning the World title. Never mind. It's next year that everyone is looking forward to; London 2012, the BIG ONE.
No matter what and where you are, one thing for sure, supporting Malaysians in international arena is one of the things we, as Malaysians will do. I think the more crowd support, the merrier, the higher anxiety it will be.
p/s: I'm trying my best to complete the story... The mixed feelings of love and hatred of the main character.

Food to thought...
I was reading newspaper in the morning and saw this weekly (sometimes fortnightly) article my doctor wrote. The title attracted me because it is related to: 'allergy'.
Those who knew me well, might know that I'm allergy to almost every food. From seafood to eggs and dairy products and certain nuts.
I'd history with food allergy. I don't know what and which type of food I'm allergic to until I tasted it. I had serious allergy problem 6 to 7 years back, as my face was full of red rashes. Took me almost 3 months to recover. Ever since that, I dare not to eat seafood, except fish anymore. No! Not even sambal belacan, otak-otak and keropok lekor. That's where I lost weight, because I was ill and restricted from eating all the food above.
Honestly, I'm not really a big fan of milk. I hate the taste being 'rubbery' and smelled funny. Well, everyone said that milk is good, this and that. So I listened and took it. I'd never enjoyed it. I showed reactions (not that serious) such as itchy and had rashes. OK, I'm officially allergy to dairy products now.
Being who I am is not easy. You have to let go many food that you indulged in. Girls, we all love creamy desserts, cakes and ice-creams (I loved once...). Sadly, I have to let go... a little by little. Nowadays, I only eat and drinks food and beverages containing soy milk. (At this very moment, I having a cup of banana flavored soy milk. Taste better than milk!)
I would like to know what kind of food you could not eat. Did you stop or continue eating those food you can't eat? Why?
Last words, food let to think, whether you should eat or not.
That's same with life. It's always your decision to take a step forward or remain in the same place.
