Bridal gowns, Weddings...

OK, I'm writing this post not because I'm getting marry... NO! It's just because I think wedding gowns are perfect. They bring out the best in a woman. They 'bring' a woman to another level of her life. They are the meaning of union (not really, but often associated with marriages. Without wedding gowns and suits, marriage is incomplete)

I just randomly looked for some wedding gowns, I myself, thinks they are lovely on the web...
(Taken from thebeautybridal.com)
This Badgley-Mischka Trumpet Gown from the 2012 collection. Well, it's a timeless design. No matter what period of time that bride wore it, this type of gown will never go out of fashion.

Preludio by Manuel Mota. It's one of my all time favourite, the design. It's just so perfect... Beautiful. Timeless. What can I say more? Perfection is what you looked for in weddings, right?

Woah! Another collection from Manuel Mota (Prado). It's really daring, frankly speaking... Bought out your beauty and daring side...

Manuel Mato's Puma. I love this. Wearing it on you, you feel like a princess, because of the train. Also gave people the mysterious feeling. It's made from silk.

This gown is simple yet beautiful. Suits beach weddings... The head accessories adds elegance to it.. I think I'll chose this design as my bridal gown. (If I have the chance to walk down the aisle...)

Maggie Sottero's Alandra. I think her designs are fantastic. Especially this ruffled gown. Does it have the fairytale feeling?

Also from Maggie Sottero (Albeline Rose). I love the details on the gown. Suits a women with temperament. Has a modern feeling to it too...

Every celebs favourite designer, Vera Wang. This dramatic ivory ruffle ball gown was her Spring 2012 collection. Besides white, ivory coloured gown are good choice too. I love the fairytale feeling from this dress.

Thought of wearing green for your wedding? You may love Vera Wang's moss green gown.

Monique Lhuillier's collection from Spring 2012. A good choice for those who doesn't want to wear white. Beige coloured gown is fantastic for you. Stunning. I remembered my cousin also wore a beige coloured gown on her wedding.

Princess Grace Kelly and Duchess of Cambridge, Katherine or Kate wore this classic design wedding gown for their big day. Monique Lhullier's collection. Inspired by both royals.

There were some wedding gowns I found.

Finding someone you love and loves you in return is not easy.
Getting marry is required a lot of courage.
Wearing this gown brings a new chapter to the bride's life.

There are so many sentimental values to wedding gowns. They represent women's true beauty, love, sacrifice, journey into another chapter in their live...

University Day...

I'm back after a week plus absent!
Frankly speaking, last week would be so far, the most hectic week for my second year. Deadlines, presentations and helping out at University Day.

Yes. My uni held a University Day to celebrate 25 years of founding in the education industry. Previous year they did 'Street Party'. This year, 'University Day'.

I started of my day paying least attention in class. Except when he sings, then I was more focused... OK. That was in the morning.

I was helping for my club, PSG to take care of the booth. We sold jelly and wristbands on that day. Jelly was made by the counsellor, with love. Ha, ha!

Front view of the PSG stall.

Clubs were setting up their stalls in the evenings. Coincidently, that day, Wednesday was the 9th day of 9th month of the Lunar calendar. The Nine Emperor festival. Yeah, rained all day...

As all the clubs were setting up, there was rehearsals for that night going on. I heard someone sang 'What Are You Waiting For'. When she stopped singing, I realised it was actually Mizz Nina!!! What on Earth?! She has been singing and I don't realised at all?!

Guess the stall name... RM 1 Corner... All food sold cost only RM 1.

Chocolate marshmallows. I didn't try it. Chocolate is not my favourite.

My friend told me the curry sold in this stall was delicious...

Yes. Most memorable and my favourite of that night. Korean food. I don't what it called in Korean. Rice cake in sauce. Not spicy. Most important of all, made by Koreans themselves...!

Not all stalls sell food that day. Some were games stall, like this one. They had the Angry Birds game. A friend who's in charge of this stall asked me to play. But I didn't. I knew I won't get into the holes...

"Hey you! Wanna mess with me...?!"

Students getting out after rain stopped... Not really. It was still drizzling...

This is Thomas. He'll be going for the Student Council (INTIMA) President position, with 2 others. Will he get elected? Not sure? Do I want him as President? Not really...

Some lecturers came in the evenings too. One of them was my former lecturer. Guess who's that...

Night time...

President and the Vice of PSG, Yuga and Kelvin.

She's one of the university's councillor. Trying to sell to someone from outside... I'll be in grave if she knew I put up this picture... Ha, ha!

Fireworks on that night. I hand-picked the best picture to post it up. Yes. Our resource fees are gone... Fireworks show was long.

Of course there's guest performances that night. Mizz Nina, Ling Kah Jun and Desiree. It's very crowded at the stage area plus I'm too tired to go and take pictures of them. I had a presentation tomorrow at 8 a.m. We closed at around 9 p.m.

That was what happened in my uni last week.
25th year celebration... Right.

Field Trip...

After all the busy duties and works of the entire week, I finally got to enjoy my Friday with a trip to StarHub. That's where they print the newspapers for Central areas.
I learned a lot from this trip, truthfully speaking. I learned that newspapers are important, people behind it put in many effort, everyday. Being in the printing presses is not easy. Deadlines in every day, long working hours. Also, production cost is not CHEAP. You're paying RM 1.20 for a copy. In reality, the actual cost is about RM2.50. Thanks to the ads. Gave me a hit on head. There's so many people working behind the news. Their main duty is to bring informant and news to every Malaysians. They serve Malaysians everyday. I appreciate their work by buying a copy of newspaper. Showing gratitude from journalists, photographers, operators, technicians, vendors, everyone involved in producing newspapers.

I read newspapers everyday. No lies. I knew many young people won't do. You don't care about what's happening around or what? If you DO read, probably just the online version. There's just a small part of the story. You're reading online because of what? Free-Of-Charge? I don't really read online. I prefer a newspaper.

This is the location. Not far. In Shah Alam.

The front entrance.

This is how it looks like inside.

Read this comic strip! They include most of the people from The Star, including Wong Chun Wai.

They gave free copies of Galaxie magazine.

My free issue of The Star, 7th October 2011. It's without StarMetro and Star2. Only the main paper.

Those were some of my juniors, queuing up to buy food in the cafeteria. I think this will be the place I spend my desperation moments of I go to StarHub for internship...

Those were our guides for the trip. My group were assisted by Mr. Mun, standing on the right.

Sorry. I don't post pictures on what's inside the newspaper production because cameras were not allow in. I'll just narrate roughly.

We saw how the 'plates' were produced. They were the ones as the blueprints for every pages. Guess how many plates they use. 1 for a black and white page. 2 or 3 for a colour page. There's about hundred pages for newspaper everyday. Do the calculations...

The layout artist sent them to Shah Alam from the office in SS 16, Petaling Jaya.
When we're there, they were producing blueprints for Star2 Weekend. And print it out later.

Don't think that recycled papers were used to print newspaper. NO. It's actually paper. I can't recall what's the name. 1 tonne of paper cost about few hundreds US Dollars. Mr. Mun said they need hundreds of cartoons/tonnes to print newspapers for the Central region (Selangor to Negeri Sembilan).  Hear it?!

There was a technical problem while printing the Star2 Weekend. The paper jammed. The workers have to throw out rolls of newspapers out. You know how much there was. I roughly examined, about 50 copies of Star2. 50!!! Threw away.... Such a waste...
Therefore I managed to tear out a copy as a souvenir. I'm reading 8th October's news on 7th October! Woohoo!!! Sounds proud...

That's all for the trip to StaHub.
I learned a lot of things.
I appreciate newspapers more than ever.
I feel much gratitude to the workers from Star Publications, from A-Z.

Thanks for giving us information and knowledges!!!
